It's the Little Things

A Poem on Appreciating Life's Little Treasures

What do we look forward to when we step through the doors to our homes after a long day? A simple, but delicious, home-cooked dinner. Mum's or wifey's chocolate chip cookies. And my personal favourite - Hawaiian Pizza.

It's the little things that put a spark back into those dull eyes after a screaming match with the boss (hopefully that doesn't happen too often). No one really expects vacations to Brazil all the time, or fancy cruises. What really comforts us, though, are the daily do-haves.

So let's put our hands together and celebrate the seemingly trivial but ever-so important things in our lives.

Enjoy these cinquains.

Ice-cream

Treat never fails

An unseen dessert treat

Chocolate cake, toasty and soft

Warms heart

Warm bath

Thoughtless shower

But puts the spring in step

Water resets the heart and the mind

When needed.
