I always thought that crying
Was a sign of weakness
And I could never let it show
People think I’m so strong
But I’m really not
I’m just a broken girl
Hiding behind a mask
Looking for a way to hold on
To have some kind of hope
And to live on
No emotion ever shown
I held it all inside
Until you came into my life
And showed me many things
But one thing you said broke me
You saw right through my façade
My perfect mask cracked
When you said;
“It’s okay. It’s okay to cry.”
And for the first time ever
The emotions that I held inside me
Burst free in that single tear flowing down my cheeks
I smiled when I cried in front of you
And I told you;
“Thank you.”
