It Had Been Said

A Poem

By Mihaela VasilevaPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

I remember once, It had been said.

Too close for comfort, not easy to forget.

Mind you, we should all avoid to stare.

Stop, halt.

We weren’t meant to go there.

Did I ever mention how small I feel inside?

How every inch of my existence begs for me to hide?

I shouldn’t be so afraid, I should know better, it’s true.

Yet, I am all those things, bound, boundless and cruel.

Bound in that I know no freedom pure

Boundless that I allow myself to endure

A pain so intense it bleeds like a wound

I don’t care if it ends, I’ll go away soon.

This mighty war that plays out,

One day I’ll find what it was all about.

For now we patiently wait for what is to be said,

Please speaker,

go right ahead.
