As he walks through the shadow of death,

He will fear no one—

Except the Samurai man of the rising sun.

He is our soldier—

For our country, his country, your country...

Not theirs.

This soldier has seen and done it all.

So be kind, and forgive his trespasses against you,

Because he cannot always remember to ask you to.

He loves without end, for he never truly saw an end—

Not in war, and not within.

He fought his own battles and eventually won,

Even if you could not see all that he had done.

So please, be kind to this soldier—

Father, and son.
