Is Written Words Worthless?

It sure feels so.

By Seema PatelPublished 10 days ago 1 min read
Written words @Seema

Is writing mean nothing,

these days?

It sure feels so.

I have written hundreds of articles

over years,

lots of time and effort,

made it possible.

I have poured my wisdom there,

expertise, experience too.

And I get ten cents.

When I think that’s a shame,

next day I get three cents.

I gasp.

A new height of humiliation.

What is this?

When the cost of everything

is touching the sky,

written words are dirt cheap.

My heart is broken.

Dreams shattered.

Where are we heading?

We name ourselves Homo sapiens,

but there is no value for knowledge,

those who raise awareness,

show the perils in plain sight,

are spoilsports.

Keep sending prayers,

as disasters keep appearing.

I understand this, but the writing must continue. For me, it is the air I breathe.
