Is life supposed to be FAIR?

A poem about my thoughts on fairness.

Amidst our cries that pierce the night,

In ceaseless sorrow and endless blight,

We bemoan life's supposed lack of care,

As if it's owed to us, this notion rare.

Do we know the rules by which all is run,

The laws that govern stars, planets and sun,

Perhaps fairness is a concept we impose,

On the world that exists beyond our throes.

Is it possible, that in the tapestry of fate,

Unfairness and justice are but a human debate,

A mere figment of our limited perception,

A construct that we use to give direction.

So let us pause and contemplate,

As we navigate life's uncertain state,

For perhaps the notion of fairness we adore,

Is just an illusion, nothing more.

About the Creator

Lewis Kim

Hello friend,

This is Lewis.

I like writing because it is one of the few ways I get to express my thoughts for the world to see. I write a lot on many topics. Today, I might write a poem, and tomorrow, a blog article on sustainability.
