Everything is plain to see,
At least if you're looking for what's unseen
My words are muffled amongst most ears
Those who hear me, only hear the smiling
Friends to go around, but always lonely in a crowd
Always told to suffer in silence and settle for less
Or maybe I am just too overwhelming...
I apologize for those who feel that way,
I've been pushing more than pulling lately
Too afraid to show my heartbreak, when it's always my heart getting in the way.
I've battled with Depression,
Beaten Death at his own game...
But Isolation, is someone who I cannot deter
Numb to the pain
Too used to being torn.
Too prideful to ask for help, but when I cave and extend my reach
There's no hand to be taken
So, I'll burden the shadows, line my lips in red, and powder my nose...
Making up my invisibility cloak.

This really resonates on a deep level. It’s incredibly heartfelt!
Powerful poem, reminds us of how we suffer in silence sometimes but a great reminder that we are resilient! My favorite line is “ Those who hear me, only hear the smiling.”
