On a darkened road, with headlights dim,
A driver swayed, his vision grim.
The bottle’s kiss had dulled his mind,
And caution’s voice he left behind.
The wheels spun wild, the engine roared,
A slurred command the pedal soared.
Unseen, unnoticed, bystanders stood,
As fate approached in misunderstood.
With a screech and crack, the silence broke,
The figure fell beneath the smoke.
A life erased in reckless haste,
A fleeting soul, too soon misplaced.
The driver swerved, the wheel he gripped,
But in his heart, the moment slipped.
A life was lost, but not his own—
For in his eyes, the guilt had grown.
Now in the haze of wasted cheer,
He faces truth he cannot clear—
The road, the drink, the shattered plea,
For one lost soul, a tragedy.
