Into Me

Poem

By Paul CrockerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Here is the sunshine but much brighter than it was before.

It warms me all over, now I know what love is for.

I feel the heat stroke my body like it wants to keep me calm.

I can no longer feel a sunbeam but instead I feel a palm.

It is shining into me from a heat source beyond the sun's rays.

And the effects that have been done to me will remain throughout my days.

There is the river running freely with nothing to restrict its path.

It washes me all over and cleans better than a bath.

I feel the wet caress my pores and allow my nerves to sleep.

It no longer feels like water but a secret I'm trusted to keep.

It is flowing into me from a spring of nourishment.

And the cleansing of my soul gives me such encouragement.

Once I knew a boy who had no reason or purpose to say hello.

Every day I'd look at him as he'd come and go.

Then one day he stopped and turned around.

He told me the missing part of himself had now been found.

The words went into me as a raindrop into the sand.

Seeing I was into him, he lovingly took my hand.

For he is the sunshine that keeps me from winter's cold.

Changing silver snowflakes into rosy gold.

He is the river that keeps me going when I want to turn back.

Leading me to a waterfall that protects me from the mirror's cracks.

His love is the only thing that poured into me.

And it will fill my heart for eternity.
