This nugget is dedicated to my writers’ group (Sandhills Writers) and their monthly one word writing challenges that must be 50 words or less.

“Golden Intentions”
My road to hell is built
with would haves and could haves,
good intentions
twisting and turning
somewhere over the rainbow.
A well worn path
eroded by a flood of should haves;
whispering promises of redemption
beyond the yellow brick road,
past the poppies,
well beyond the emerald city.

Welcome to my brain. My daydreams are filled with an unquenchable wanderlust, and an unrequited love affair with words haunts my sleepless nights. I do some of my best work here, my messiest work for sure. Want more? https://a.co/d/iBToOK8

Great job, Stacey! Your writing is truly remarkable, and your ability to convey complex emotions and ideas in just 50 words is truly impressive. "Golden Intentions" is a beautiful and thought-provoking piece that captures the essence of the struggle between good intentions and the reality of life's challenges. Your use of imagery, such as the road to hell being built with would haves and could haves, is both powerful and evocative. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, and keep up the fantastic work!
