What’s rare in this world anymore?

What can’t you find inside a store?

Fine spice, fancy wines,

Fake gold that still shines,

What is it that you could want for?

//

Oh you’re sad? Just go buy more stuff!

If you can’t afford it, that’s rough,

Fix your eyes on a screen

And just try not to scream,

And pretend that you have enough.

//

I’ll tell you what’s rare; true connection,

I know it seems a misconception,

The Internet binds,

But I’ve come to find,

It comes at the price of affection.

//

Unfiltered, free life, now that’s rare,

A life, of technology, bare,

So I’ll put down my phone,

And stop living alone,

Relearn how to love the fresh air.
