instructions on releasing anxiety

don't let the styrofoam things

cling to your brick tight skin.

roll back your shoulders

and breathe their release.

watch as they change to grains

of sand that swirl away

in the summer breeze

as waves wash your feet.

a ritual older than the moon.

a homecoming.
