For me, it’s hard to be sure,

But I knew that I needed to talk to you

And I would forever more.

I felt a sense of importance

That I get you in my life,

Whether we share only friendly conversation

Or I eventually become your wife.

I still remember the first time I saw you,

Which even surprises me.

It was a largely unremarkable group interaction -

I don’t even recall who all the others may be.

A proper meeting it was not -

That would happen months later.
