Found something today
Or maybe it was sooner.
Found something, sometime.
It was you.
This may seem absurd,
To hear from such a bird.
Yet this time I’ve perched,
On the right branch.
Can it be that
Something good has appeared
In a life, lived through in fear.
A life, not my own sometimes,
Not anyone’s really, it belongs to
No one, none at all.
Could it be that,
One who knows such
An unfathomable fact,
Is you?
Not to demean,
Not to disgrace.
Only to think that,
It had once been a race.
I wanted to be the first
To know such truth.
To find such wonder
In this world,
Was my dream,
And you come upon this,
You simply are.
The truth, in your being,
A wonder, yourself,
To have discovered,
A meaning, so pure.
