Inside The Mind Of A Creator

A blacksmiths vision

Most people when they look at a spring they see scrap. They think it is what it is and can be nothing else.

When a blacksmith looks at a piece of steel.

They see the end in mind.

They know what they want to get to.

They know with a little bit of heat and hammer they can change the appearance of what was into what they want.

This was a new spring that was never used. It was setting in a scrap pile.

I wanted to make some utility knives.

This will fit the bill.

I cut a piece. Straightened it and forged it into what I wanted.

I used maybe 4 inches to make this knife so there’s enough for maybe 3 or 4 more.

When you look inside what something is and can see what it can be. The journey to make it so is the fun part.

The finished product is the reward.
