Inner child
is part of your subconscious—
the sense of wonder, creativity,
innocence, vulnerability,
Alas, emotional wounds too.
We all have an inner child.
If neglected, we suffer.
If connected, we heal.
We become emotionally-resilient.
So I nurture my inner child—
Be it through watercolor,
being curious about
the butterfly we saw,
picking treasures on my walks
or playing with plush toys
in the summer backyard.
I’m in midlife,
but mental health
hasn’t bothered me yet—
because I never let
my inner child suffer,
not even once!
So, check with your
neglected inner child
and feel better.

Great job and we should all embrace our inner child maybe that is why I read and review children's and tween books and like to color.
