"I watch the fathers with their little girls... And I wonder what I did to deserve this? How could you hurt a little kid? I can't forget, I can't forgive you." -Conan Gray, Family Line

Fear.

It's always the fear.

The fear of

becoming you,

becoming what you became;

Fear of

being the one person

I swore I'd never become.

They always say,

"You are your father's child."

They sit and laugh,

mentioning just how similar

you are to your parents;

mentioning how they wouldn't

doubt you were your father's daughter.

That's the fear.

That's what I'm so deathly afraid of.

Becoming you.

Becoming what you once were.

Inheriting the one trait about you

that made my future

without you

a living hell.

Inheriting the one trait

I swore to God I wouldn't inherit.

That's the fear.

That's what I'm afraid of;

the one thing I hate about you;

the one thing I wish I can delete

about you.

The most vivid memory I have of you

just so happens to be the one thing

I hated the most about you.

"I was a kid but I wasn't clueless... Someone who loves you wouldn't do this" - Conan Gray, Family Line
