Where the Mind Is

Arbitrary four walls

Bolstered by residuals

Of palpable natal negelct,

Infantile reject, childhood dreams wrecked,

Leading to total teenage flat affect

No.

Adulthood disconnect

Some substitute daddy

To engage the heart valves sullied by a lack

Of a father's love

Or is a transfer of the harsh blur of

An abusive lucid nightmare, to a gentle paternal shove

No.

Trauma, rise above

A cocoon of dreams

Sheltered by what I have always possessed

Of an infinite mind

Only stopped briefly by time, not to press rewind

But to remember the dull aches and pains that are mine

Yes.

Emerged, will be something sublime
