a star of magnificent brilliance
Majestic and grand
Explodes into smithereens
Millions of shards of chunky star dust
Sparkle, twinkle and vibrate
With pure luminosity.
Light bounces from one fragment to another
Colors. Crisp, clean colors
Dance and spin through their prism
Through me, around me, deep within me.
Blinding, engulfing, overwhelming and overpowering.
The sheer force of it
Knocks the wind from my lungs
Sends my senses fleeing
Derails my train of thought.
I’m stunned, frozen in place.
And yet I’m freed and empowered.
This is what it is to love you,
To be loved by you.
