Indigo

Color: Indigo

By Sandy Lynn Myshell Published 5 years ago 1 min read

I live my life like the indigo

Squished up in the rainbow

A part of a whole

Never really on my own

But who really ever wants to be alone?

So I’ll hand you my fantasies

Wrapped up in a melody

So just, just maybe

You’ll get the chance to live my dreams

Sitting alone

In a crowded room

Singing softly to myself

Enough dreams to fill the lives around me

Enough aspirations to drive them all mad

Do I tell them?

Or do I continue

To hum quietly,

Pretending I’m not here?

Take these beautiful images

Take these scribbled notes

Read them in

Breathe them out

Let these daydreams fill your soul

I couldn’t live all these stories

If I had all the time in the world

They swirl around my mind

Like the iridescence on a pearl

So I gift you my fantasies

Wrapped up in a melody

Take a few, I’ve got plenty

Go forth and enjoy my dreams

Become the indigo

On the bunting feather

Taking flight

Vivid in the autumn sky
