By Laila Longshore Longshore-SmithPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Indigenous Is beautiful

misinformation about us overflows into the nation on mainstream tv and hate handed down from generations upon generations

But my people and I are a beautiful sight to see

They tried to kill the Indian and save the man

But we are here thriving and bringing our culture back to light

Indigenous Is beautiful more than 5 million standing strong

Standing in the face of adversity

However, we identify biracial or multiracial Native American, Indian, Red Skin we may be many, but we are one standing together original inhabitants we have a voice swept aside no more a force to be reckoned with

Indigenous Sovereignty

Reclaimers the thrivers oppressed no more we are not extinct

Government with government Relations- its, such a complex world

Language, Food sovereignty, Art, self-reliant and independent intriguing culture and traditions

skilled in our own worlds free-spirited and courageous people who have withstood like the cedar tree

stereotyped, we are not what you see! We are not your mascots or women-to-be. MMIW needs to be seen! our Beautiful Maidens are in dire need

platforms are rising, and we are OUR PEOPLE ARE starting to being seen, we will keep marching warriors, we will be

Our ancestors were strong and understood seven generations ahead

every decision, be it personal, governmental, or corporate; we must consider how it will affect our descendants seven generations ahead. the heart of our existence our children to be we will be still standing for we don’t know how else to be. indigenous resilient me and my people are a beautiful sight to see

Our eyes and skin colors are more than what you see we are mothers, sisters, and fathers to be our indigenous beauty should be able to shine without judgment we are who we are past, future, present proud we will be Indigenous beautiful
