Inconsequential - In Flux
Passionate Moment of Silence Challenge Entry
Stunned for words as the carnal desires drive us
in tension and lust, holding on to the precipice
lapping up in sensual frenzy the moment we holdfast
everything is inconsequential, everything in flux
never will we ever have this unique moment again,
candles flicker in the mercurial chaos of it all
everything is inconsequential, everything in flux

"candles flicker in the mercurial chaos of it all"- I can't help be drawn to alliteration in a line haha, and mercurial chaos is such a unique phrasing. I like the repetition here even in so short a poem, as the idea of no consequences is so powerful when you're in a moment like this. Everything else is dimmed!
Oooo, mercurial chaos! I especially loved that! π©π₯
Love this spicy take in the challenge!!! Well played my friend!!
I like the repetition of everything being in flux, like it both is and is not.
Love the creative direction of this! Nicely done! Iβm also loving that finally you posted a poem without a content warning so I can read it! πππ₯°
This is a masterpiece. I read it several times over just because the use of language was so brilliant. To me, this is top story stuff. I'll keep my fingers crossed it gets the recognition it deserves! Absolutely amazing!
Kinky!
This poem has so much beautiful eroticism built into it, Paul!
βMercurial Chaosβ - liked that phrase-image.
Good work, but it just sounds like life to me. It happens.
Awesome. Reminds me of a man I once dated - the first few days were like TNT, then fizzled out to nothing more than a small firecracker - until even that became a dud. Oh well ... but this brought back memories.
