Incoherent Rambling...

I have got to be me.

I have never been

the norm

the status quo

since the day I was born.

I'm weird

I'm creative

My imagination

runs away to

odd places at times.

I write poems

I try to bring people

along with me

to help the cause

to a place of peace

to my kind of Oz.

With Trans Men

and Poly folks

and Drag Queens

and Muslims I love

with their Qurans

and calls to pray

who'd never hurt a flea

on any given day.

I don't like abortion

but I will fight for

your right to decide

I am angry at America

but I still have US Pride

I'm not a bible thump-er

even though I believe in God

I still think Allah

and God are the same being

and people hate me for believing.

See, I can't be him, her or

even you.

I believe in free speech

even if I think

the person talking is

a moron or a jerk

I used to be employed

now I no longer work.

I'm old, 63 in fact,

I often say things

rude

unexpected

with little to no tact.

But I love

HARD

TRUE

PURE

even though my attitude

is far from demure.

My heart has been broken

more times than I can count

but I'm worth loving

without a doubt.

I get depressed often

and was in the hospital

once long ago

but I got better and

learned to try to

go with the flow.

I'll say it again

I have to be me

so if they want my

freedom, try me and see.

I won't give up easy

and I will defend my

right to be queer

I'm not running

I won't flee

I will fight

because I'm

staying right here.
