Incessant (Life With ADHD)

What's the opposite of overthinking?

If i could make it stop‐

the chaos

of every thought

just, running, nonstop

just, turn them all off...

I wouldn't hesitate.

The notions my imagination paints,

can only create more of what they bring‐

and it's not peace...

they do far more harm than good,

tearing me down by the piece...

wearing me out by the minute...

but to no end...

and no limit.

What's been done is far too late to change‐

no if's...

no and's...

and no but's.

There just isn't a stop to this-

to the art my mind insists on painting,

creating one ugly display after another because it can't stand waiting.

There is no escape,

no way out

from the shadow of doubt my mind holds me in.

Each and every thought

just running,

and running...

and running‐

nonstop‐

if I could turn them all off...

every thought

and every feeling they entice,

not only would I not think twice, but‐

I wouldn't even think once

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
