Incendiary-Like Vocabulary

Words don't just hurt, they burn. They can burn both good and bad memories into our minds.

"sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me"

the greatest lie ever told

they don't just hurt, they burn-

my diary is a burning canvas-

and this, i ask:

to whom who is not hurt by words,

what's your secret?

tell me

sell me your story

help me in my disbelief

what words are present in your diary?

is there anything you resent in your vocabulary?

words can hurt more than stones and cut deeper than any blade,

and burn hotter than any flame

taking page after page

there is no diary that can tame,

an incendiary-like vocabulary

what can extinguish this?

the very same that ignited this fire

burnt pages may not be recovered

and bridges that have burned may not be rebuilt

but just as words can hurt, words can heal

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
