Incarnate Innocence

She Doth Not Know

Incarnate Innocence

December 16, 2012

No first word spoken

Can’t even tell a lie

She can’t hold a thing

No concept of theft

And these are the small things

The ones that go by unnoticed

She is a manifestation,

Incarnate innocence

This newborn infant

So small, so blessed

To know nothing of the world

Know nothing of the evil that awaits

And being so small, we say,

There’s nothing to be done

There is no way this child could

Ever make a difference

But no matter the size of the flesh

It is the mind, the spirit, the soul

That come together, so large

Which defend and make a statement

She may be anything possible

A doctor, a soldier, a teacher

Any impact is no less significant

For the mouth it comes from

So listen to the youth

Listen to the earth

Let them tell you

We are only starting

We can make a difference

She already has

Parents, so proud,

Children, so strong

The world is a better place

With her in it

There is so much we can learn

From a child’s smile

She is a manifestation,

Incarnate innocence

No person too small to learn from

No lesson they can’t teach

inspirational
