Inappropriate Thoughts

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Verse 1

You slip into the silence of my mind,

A shadow I can’t leave behind.

Every quiet moment, you appear,

A whisper I’m not supposed to hear.

Chorus

You’re in my thoughts, where you don’t belong,

A secret rhythm, an untamed song.

I try to hide, but the truth still shows,

You’re the fire in places no one knows.

Verse 2

The line between sacred and profane,

Is blurred when I call out your name.

I wrestle with the echoes in the dark,

But you’ve already left your mark.

Bridge

Is it sin, or is it art,

To carry you inside my heart?

Inappropriate, yet strangely true,

The forbidden always points to you.

Final Chorus

You’re in my thoughts, where silence breaks,

A dangerous dream my soul still takes.

I fight the tide, but I can’t let go,

You’re the secret flame I’ll never show.
