In Your Orbit

Free Verse

By Mansoor KhanPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

You do not arrive like thunder,

you arrive like light—

quiet, steady,

spilling warmth across the cold corners of me.

The world forgets its noise when you look my way.

Even silence becomes music,

and my pulse learns a softer rhythm,

keeping time with the brush of your breath.

I never believed in constellations

until your name began stitching stars into the dark.

Now every night is a map,

and every path points toward you.

Love,

you are not a storm—

you are the sky after it,

the gentle blue that makes me

want to stay,

again and again
