Heavy is the heart of the girl who always smiled the brightest
She took those who were burdened with darkness into her arms, and accepted that darkness into herself
Anything to heal those around her
Gave anything and everything for those she loves
Even if that meant giving up the dreams she held dearly
That pretty little smile of hers will always shine brightly while your eyes are on her
She'll laugh and speak as though she has no care in the world
But the moment the door closes
And she's alone again...
The tears stream down her face
She can no longer carry the weight of the world and her body crumbles to the floor
She can hardly breathe, as she feels herself shatter over and over again
She cannot understand why...
Why is she never the priority?
Why does she put everyone else above her?
Why does she even try?
Why is it easier to be with a crowd than it is to be alone with her?
Chosen second, always made an option
She has fought the thought over and over again
But it always creeps back in...
Maybe she is meant to be alone
Too broken, too far gone to be saved
So, in the darkness she shall remain.
