In the amber

An ode to Autumn

By Caroline TPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

In the season of amber, the world is one big candlelit dinner.

Sunshine drenched meadows become a topic of reminiscent conversation.

A season gone.

Leaves curl into themselves in a grateful submission. An ideal death.

My daughter swirls in my belly. Steam swirls off my mug.

A new beginning among a season of endings.

In a heavy weight of reds, golds, and browns - all is as it should be.

The sunset of the year, a worldwide sigh of relief.

Pumpkin spiced peace. One evening at a time.

In the morning, sunshine will peek in on the world.

We will renew as well.
