In solitude

"I yelled"

I cursed that day.

That day we parted ways.

You walked away with such ease.

You acted like you never loved me.

You dumped me as if we never shared a strong bond.

I was looking at you.

Until you turned around the corner.

It was so difficult for me to watch you leave.

I was silent.

But I cried.

In solitude, I yelled

In the silence, my tears flowed.

I felt lost, like if I'd never been there before.

I felt empty, with half a broken heart.

In a minute, my skin became dry and pale.

I felt dehydrated and collapsed.

It was as if you took all the water out of my body.

Someone arrived and lifted me up.

He wiped my tears.

He restored my heart.

With him, I am much happier than before.

Thank you for leaving me.

Sometimes, what we see as negative can turn to something positive. Like a breakup.

A poem that captures the sorrow of loss while illustrating how life persists; a small door closes, and she sees an open gate.
