I miss Joe Maxx coffees and library afternoons,

watching seagulls over the river and fast food runs at 2 a.m.

I miss chocolate martinis and pomegranate margaritas,

but I don't mind missing meeting nights and hangover mornings

I miss city lights and shopping mall evenings,

cheap movies on Mondays and last minute dates

I miss dog park days and chicken strips in the car,

but I don't mind missing rainy day errands and blue jean skin stains

I miss late-night laundry when the halls quiet down and Wednesday nights at the art museum,

hair dye weekends and Target runs with friends

I miss walks downtown and Chinese takeout,

but I don't mind this newfound free time and quiet isolation
