In Loving Memory?
Submission for "This is how I remember it" Challenge
Friends and Family
Everyone I ever knew
Died tragically
In a memory calamity
⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓
Each burning revision
Excised in ecstasy
Tears pour with precision
Laughter echoes in fretful derision
⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓
A world overshadowed by doom
Once light has been shed on the trail of lies
Irrespective of magnitude or multitude
It confounds and consumes
⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓
Life no longer shrouded in mystery
A crimson avalanche from heaven
Their sordid, entangled history
Catastrophic as thundering artillery
⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓⌓
No shred of malignance shall remain
I root and ruthlessly burn it out
Willing, finally to bear the pain
My life and body to regain
