‘in light of meditation: a dreamscape’
a poem written about a dream and childhood memories

in my dream I was throwing a small party. cleaned all day and set up little activities for everyone to do. you showed up and asked me if I’d missed you as much as you’d missed me. I told you I didn’t think I’d ever met you before.
you said, ‘remember when you were a teenager, all the things we used to do?’ and I recalled them instantly. I felt safe, at home. I was having fun.
there was a leak in the bathroom when I went to take a shower, it was flooding the floor. it was winter outside and everyone was going to have to stay the night since the snow was coming down hard. I woke up to my mother saying her ice machine had broken, and that it had been leaking all over the counter.
