She’s from sunny skies and the countryside

She’s from papaya salad and sticky rice

She’s from abandonment and learning to survive

She’s from loneliness and trust issues

She’s from strength and resilience

She’s from longing for a mother’s love and never feeling enough

She’s from loving unconditionally despite the pain she carries in her heart

She’s from giving her all to someone for them to only tear her apart

A fragile heart with a loyal soul

An overthinker, but worth the patience you should give her

On the surface, she looks like she’s got it all together, but she’s broken inside

Over the years she’s picked up the pieces, with each piece she’s put back together she’s cried

Still, she chooses to see the good in the world

She’s from the school of hard knocks and lessons learned

She’s from rising above all expectations, like a phoenix emerging from it’s ashes, she steps into the sunlight anew

Breaking herself from generational trauma that binded her, a brighter future in perfect view

She gives herself permission to heal, permission to forgive, not just those who’ve hurt her, but permission to forgive herself

Time and time again people have failed her, showing her the shadiness within

Still, she becomes her own light in the dark

She may be small, but she’s strong as hell

Each day stepping outta her comfort zone, little by little

Facing her fears, scared of failure, she’ll take those chances in hopes that she’ll excel

Ridin hard for those she loves

She aint no fighter, but she’ll throw them hands when push comes to shove

She’s allowed herself to continue to love people. but most importantly, she’s allowed herself to be loved

And in due time the world will see the beauty, the light that she is

And in due time that pain she’s carried, that pain that’s held her back will be a thing of the past

And the void she’s had in her heart will be filled with the love she’s longed for at last

In due time she will finally feel worthy of everything she’s ever dreamed of

In due time, not only will she be loved, but she will finally and truly, FEEL loved
