In Defence of Red
For Poppy's Colours Writing Prompt!
Fetishised, villified
Aggressively stigmatised
Burning fire of destruction
Dripping blood of expiration
Sign of warning
Warning of danger
Hues of Communism, socialism
Tones of radical revolution
Whether scarlet, vermillion
Ruby or cherry
cardinal, cerise or carmine
Claret or crimson
So much more to red
Passion, beauty
Glowing so scandalous
Sexuality, love
Blushing hard with embarrassment
Blazing heat of empowerment
Bright glow of warmth and happiness
