In Darkness I Lay

Can I endure the pain

To Lay in the Darkness

When I try to go to sleep

in the darkness, I lay

Will my soul the devil reap

Because to no God do I pray?

Do you want to be in heaven forever?

That’s a long, long time

To do the same thing over and over

Would be a horrid crime

After all the pain on earth

That I have endured

Then once I’m dead

My pain, they will secure

Stop this torment now

If you can by all means

Don’t you tell me how

I must take your stand unseen

Prove to me you are real

Don’t tell me I must believe

And give me your holy spiel

I think I have been deceived

My pain is beyond belief

Here I stand alone

Enduring constant grief

Hurting to the bone
