The yellow cab sped into the heart of the night
The black ice sheet hidden out of sight
As the driver approached the dangerous bend
The young boy’s youth was about to end
Through the windscreen his golden head flew
Saved by the heroes arriving in blue
“He’ll be scarred for life” the doctors all said
“Only my face” Never in my head
To those who judged me by my skin
Black, blue, yellow – all bashed in
I say I’m unique – handsome too
Comfortable with myself – how about you?
Forty years later the young boy’s a man
Scars Invisible – life's gone to plan
