Imperfect Rainbow

Seeing things a little differently..

By K.J.GeorgePublished 5 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read
"Rainbow Eye" by myself

I don’t only see blue skies,

I see purple and pink.

And no I don’t only mean sunsets, but the lenses that are my eyes when I begin to think,

About her red lips when I close my eyes, and her beautiful burnt orange hair when it blows in the wind, as it blends with the clouds in the sky.

Her little yellow specks that glimmer in the pool of her brown eyes whenever she smiles or even when she grins,

And sometimes the sky has a hint of indigo like his favorite hoodie that I always see hanging in his window.

My heart takes flight whenever I see such a beautiful site, that is his green eyes.

They are wild, open and loud like a beautiful rainforest, and you can spot them in any crowd even behind a disguise.

Thanks to them I developed a talent to see the world as a rainbow,

Every color more vibrant as I pay attention to every tone, every color that’s in between and not normally shown...in the books.

I no longer see things by the way we were taught, I see things that were created by my heart.

I get to enjoy the best of both worlds in different colors and I think that makes me a wonder,

Not weird, I’m not confused, and my talent is not one for the weak.

Once I open my eyes and step outside or meet a fresh, beautiful soul the world shifts and I see a beautiful rainbow in its own order.

One with more than the 7 shades of what’s considered normal, I no longer recognize the formal.

I get to experience rainbows every day and not only after a storm.

I embrace the world as my own creation, one my heart created inspired by a healthy rejuvenation.

Whether I’m inspired by him or her, my lenses no longer see only blue skies but an imperfect rainbow.
