Longing had the nerve
to swerve through the door,
that was painted just as before,
just as the sky and grass behind it.
The pressure cooker of my psyche worked to transform into the norm,
taking the walk down society’s hallway in the dim lit dorm.
Wedding tulle wadded in agitation and impatience.
“Teeth have a memory,”
the orthodontist tech stated.
Meaning, crooked teeth,
after being straight,
want to go back to being crooked.
Lilac and lavender cracked their knuckles in the breeze of teasing testimony.
Tickled by the rumors and rumblings,
they remembered all their fondest memories,
the ones that made their faces glow again.

Teeth do have memory. We use isotopic analysis in archaeology to study teeth to reconstruct ancient diets and the environment. Our teeth record where we live and what we eat! They remember
Whoa, this is gorgeous! That “teeth have a memory”? I’m keeping that in my quote pocket.
This line stood out and very relatable:The pressure cooker of my psyche worked to transform into the norm,
This is some pretty abstract stuff. The bit about teeth having a memory is interesting. Made me think about how things in life seem to have a way of reverting. Like when we fix something, there's always that worry it'll go back to its old state. And the imagery with the wedding tulle and lilac/lavender is vivid. What were you going for with all this?
I think our hearts and minds need a maintenance program of sorts as well to keep them in synch with our smile. I have fond memories of Lilac, ahhh...😊✨☀️
