Illusion Too Good to Be True

Have you ever questioned something really good that has happened to you and realized your instincts were right all along?

By Alicia Del RePublished 8 years ago 1 min read

I thought I knew you

And I thought you knew me

But it is clear that we were strangers

Who were never meant to be

How did you not see

All the beautiful colors painted on me?

I was an abstract piece of art

That was too vivid for you to handle

But you never tore my painting apart

Even though you tried really hard

You were very good at playing the part

That was when I knew

What I saw in you

Was a perfect illusion

Too good to be true

However

I do thank you for adding more colors on my skin

Dark colors of sin

Because now my painting is deep like an abyss

Royal purple, grey, black, and blue

Are the colors that made me stronger than you

fact or fiction
