If Tomorrow Starts Without Me
For Kayleigh's "One of Us" challenge
If tomorrow starts without me
I wouldn't be surprised,
to feel I wasn't missing out
or even left behind.
Tomorrow arrives every day
as long as the world keeps turning,
tomorrow is not dependent on me
a little lesson that I'm learning.
I cannot miss tomorrow
as long as I'm alive,
I cannot will it not to be
nor would I even try.
I have many tomorrows
if I fail the next one round,
I can try again for as many tomorrows
it takes me to be found.
Who I am tomorrow
can be different than yesterday,
I'll be searching long for who I am
and maybe I'll find the way.
I will shake hands with tomorrow
whether I'm here or drift away,
but if tomorrow starts without me
the world will be okay.

This prompt is producing some fab work. I loved the philosophical nature of your poem, Bugsy.
This is so profound
Well said.
