If tomorrow starts without me
Better late than never on a sad poem challenge
If tomorrow starts without me,
I hope I left a lasting memory,
I hope every card game played,
isn't finished without mentioning my name,
I hope when someone goes to send a meme,
I am the first name seen,
I hope when someone decides to travel the world,
they reference to how I was once that girl,
If tomorrow starts without me,
I hope my brother teaches his future children to know me,
Because I would be there in person if I could be,
I hope his kids will be raised like us,
I would want them to know, how endlessly they are loved,
I hope to be more than ashes left on a mantel,
I want to stay in conversations, I want my absence to be felt,
If tomorrow starts without me,
I wouldn't want anyone to be sorry,
for the time left unspent,
For my life short-lived,
I want to stay alive through how their hearts give,
By complimenting strangers,
and conquering their fears,
Buying raspberry jam at markets,
and aspiring to find their purpose,
If tomorrow was to start without me,
I want to live in your soft smile when you see something I once liked,
And the feeling of amazement surrounded by cool rocks on even cooler hikes,
I want you to feel me between every hug you give,
Knowing I would be holding you back if I could,
I would like you to think of me in the silence,
Knowing it is okay to cry, because our love is immense,
If tomorrow was to start without me,
I would need you to keep finding your way,
I would need you to know, at the end of each day,
Even if tomorrow starts without me,
I'll stay alive in your memories and It will be okay!

This is so beautifully written. :) the little details about raspberry jam and card games got me.
This is a lovely poem based on the prompt. Well done.
