If I Were God.

Life Without Consequence.

By Cathy (Christine Acheini) Ben-Ameh.Published 8 months ago Updated 8 months ago 1 min read

If I were God, and the sky held no heaven,

If death was dust, and hell a myth for children—

Then let the fires burn where innocence once stood,

For in my world, there are no innocents. Only debts.

I would wage wars like history did,

But I would make no mistake in my targets.

No collateral. No “civilian casualties.”

Only verdicts in flesh—arm for arm, eye for eye.

I would tear down palaces built on broken backs,

Let kings starve on the floors of their feasts.

For every coin stolen from the hungry,

I would brand their hands with fire that does not sleep.

Liars would taste their tongues turned to ash,

Each false word etched into their bones like scripture.

No courtroom, no trial.

Just the weight of truth, and the blade of consequence.

Rapists would beg for the silence they stole,

Their bodies made monuments to pain.

No forgiveness. No chance to pray.

Their breath would be taxed with screams they once ignored.

And those who raised fists to children—

May their hands rot before their eyes,

May they live long enough to see

What it feels like to be powerless, finally.

You see, I wouldn’t play god like a priest.

There’d be no sermons, no psalms, no second chances.

Only the symmetry of punishment,

The balance that mercy has long betrayed.

I would not forgive.

I would not forget.

I would give the world what it truly earned—

Not wrath, but reflection, carved into the skin of the guilty.

And when the world howls in horror at my justice,

I would smile.

For I would know then

That they never feared God—only consequence.

This is some intense stuff. You really dive into a different view of justice. Made me think about how we usually see forgiveness vs. punishment. I wonder, though, in a world like this, where would the line between justice and revenge be drawn? And how would society function with such a strict view of punishment?

  • Great, Wonderful 🌸🌸

The day i realized most people were only following the rules out of fear of consequences, it changed everything. Most people are concerned about the extensive surveillance we have around us. I was already being surveilled all the time my entire life, but the bad guys weren't; maybe it's only fair. Maybe it's time we see a little bit of truth instead of hearing everyone's lies, and no one following up.
