If I were an artist
Unfiltered bliss

"Feet - What do I need them for if I have wings to fly"?
Losing the benefits of having feet^^^she learned to fly.
I love the brightly lit tortured artform of Mexico's Frida Kahlo
the rebel... ........ ....One of My idols
I remember back when I had unibrow eyebrows like hers
I would comb them and style them upwards
one jealous girl laughed at me she barely had any
But heck, life is fickle...a grey hair appeared in mine brows t'other day
and I shaved them clean off
Freida was the name of one of my aunts she died before I was born
She had been beautiful, like Frida...she got herself killed caught up in a menage a trois but without the three/some compromising situation.
My Freida was killed by jealousy that green-eyed (bombolous)(made up word)monster.
I wish I had known them. They remind me of me...their passion for life was an emancipation to the soul
~~
Artist Frida was uncompromising and beautifully brilliant......drawing glaringly delicious sometimes tortured self-portraits that dealt with themes of identity the human body and death.

Frida had tumultuous relationships I can relate to that you know... passion or nothing
Artist Frida had polio as a child, she had a limp Frida was later involved in a horrid bus accident...which left her so seriously injured, she had to have30 (thirty) medical surgical operations on her body.
The best of us would have given up cursing God for his cruelty...
But not Frida!
Without her loss
Would she be the person that she grew her heart and talent into being?
During her recovery phase She taught herself to paint, she read furiously while studying the art of the old masters.

Why am I regaling you with visions of a brave and fearless woman/you may ask
Why, it is in the telling of others that we find pieces of ourselves
Nothing is new under the sun, just stories being retold......
As lived in the new bodies shed by those gone before
I wish I had been reborn as Frida
My telling would be exceptionally phenomenal.......

The gift of Frida Kahlo to women everywhere was a willingness to bare her pain and suffering to bring the secret agony of women to the forefront of society.
She was a crucial figure in bringing female artistic talent into the limelight in a time when men dominated the art scene.
She did self-portraits for she was constantly alone. Confined to bed...unable to walk.

"Feet - What do I need them for if I have wings to fly"?
She flew.
