If I was immortal and didn't know it
I would have lived in every single moment like they counted.
If I was immortal and didn't know it,
My mind would have been my worst enemy.
If I was immortal and didn't know it,
Not everything would have come easy.
If I was immortal and didn't know it,
I would have needed love from the people around me.
If I was immortal and didn't know it,
My grudges would have burnt with the bridges.
If I was immortal and didn't know it,
It would have taken a lot less than words to destroy me.
If I was immortal and didn't know it,
I would have treasured their faces and smiles while they lasted.
If I was immortal and I didn't know it,
I would have been subconsciously thinking of the countdown I was under.
If I was immortal, but had no knowledge of it,
My passions would have driven me until my very last breath.
If I am untouchable by the gods, but I don't realise it,
Every hardship and struggle,
Every single ache
I would ignore.
I would charge headfirst into the pools of hope
And drink, hoping Circe had tried to trick me.
I would defeat lament,
And the hot tears of self-pity
And grow.

WoW! I truly appreciate this raw piece: surreal and powerful prose!
I want to be an immortal wether I know or not. Fantastic poem! ❤️
Really nice, Ruby
