If I Was Blind would racism still divide

This is a wicked world that condemns one’s skin

If I Was Blind would racism still divide

If I was blind, I’d see no race,

no lines to draw, no scars to trace.

No shades of hate, no tints of fear,

just voices pure, both far and near.

Skin would not matter, nor shape, nor hue,

I’d know your heart by the words you choose.

No need to fight, no cause to divide,

just souls that meet with nothing to hide.

But the world is cruel, with sight so vain,

it picks and tears, it shouts and blames.

Good men and women, honest and true,

fall beneath the weight of what hatred can do.

Yet if the blind can see with grace,

then tell me—who’s in darkness’ place?

Close your eyes and look inside,

maybe then, you’ll see with pride.
