If I Could Be Beautiful For Just One Day.

I Still Wouldn't Believe A Word You Say.

I could do my eye shadow a thousand times,

Maybe correct my lipstick,

Though I've already tried,

Convince myself, I look pretty

in a million different dresses,

And tell myself, I don't look fat,

Even though I'll never believe that;

I could wear that beautiful outfit,

And feel like the queen on the dancefloor,

I could smile whilst moving my hips,

To the beat of the music,

Whilst crying quiet tears,

Because my dance partner might use me,

I could listen to you say,

"Your beautiful," all night,

But words aren't enough,

They never convince me;

If I could be beautiful for just one day,

I still wouldn't believe a word you say.

    Powerful. Want to give you a massive hug, and persuade you and myself that we ARE beautiful 🙂❤

    Oof, this one hits! All glammed up but still doubting—relatable. That last line? A mic drop of feelings.
