Identify the Triggers

And feel better

Some days, I feel like crap.

Today is one of those.

The good thing is —

I can pinpoint the reasons

and the problems identified,

are solvable.

So let me share.

It's one of those days,

when biochemically,

hormones are at their lowest.

They are signal molecules —

they cross-talk,

with neurotransmitters,

which dictate our moods.

Not enough today.

The glass is almost empty,

To that, two little kids,

full of demands.

One complains of nausea

and not going to eat breakfast.

Another guzzles on formula milk

and is now having,

an eczema flare-up,

asking to be comforted.

Motherhood is exhausting

with no help anywhere.

On top of that,

weather in my region —

it's June gloom,

gray clouds loom.

My eyes don’t like white light.

There’s air pressure change too,

which my sinuses,

don’t adjust well to.

I feel headache and irritation.

So the triad of triggers —

hormones, children, and weather —

is making sure of melancholy,

as if being pushed by a

giant boulder.

Some solitude and rest,

with slow pace learning,

could have helped the situation.

But a mother,

is a first responder,

not easy to find succor.

But, I will make sure,

to be kind to self,

and communicate with family,

to offer me needed help.

I urge you too,

to identify the irritants,

and address them,

and you will see,

stress level diminish,

and restoration of peace.

Hope you feel better soon and get that help you are searching for. Weather changes affect my sinuses too along with a few other things. What a way to describe a health issue(s). Good job.
