Icarus Eyes

recount of an agonising summer

By Tim WortonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Not hearing from her is the loudest silence

Mauve fever soul in ultra violence

.

.

If music is a mirror I'm exposed

The sun and Del Rey whispered my news

Tasting her sunset oh my skin turned rose

But the love she speaks is taught in runes

.

Sunlight cut through all my work reports

September wind pushed me to turn a page

Blood thrilling full rhythm I lied, of course

In client emails I wrongly wrote her name

.

Melting to know where our fondness could lead

Keeping how much I miss you in my bones

I know summer at some point has to leave

But I still don't want you to feel alone

. .

Soft bake a man then cook him full flambé

She danced a cooling waltz on my demons

Icarus eyes, her heart hates to stay

Has a love ever left you and gave no reason?

..

heartbreak
